THE HEAD & NECK CANCER FOUNDATION TEAM

The Head & Neck Cancer Foundation is an independent charity founded by doctors. Our team is composed of highly skilled professionals who have come together to ensure that our pioneering research can take place. Meet some of the founders below.

Sir Kenneth Branagh / Patron

I am delighted to join HNCF and to lend my support to this excellent organisation. In its championing and support of ground-breaking research into new approaches and surgical techniques, HNCF is playing an impressive role in tackling a condition where awareness and understanding remains limited. I look forward to seeing and being part of its development in the future.

Sir Frederick Hervey-Bathurst / Chairman

Frederick is a Chartered Financial Planner and HNCF’s founding Chairman. Frederick’s involvement stems from his late father having benefitted from the skills of Professor Mark McGurk, who provided an unprecedented additional 19 years of life after substantial surgery.

Professor Mark McGurk / Director

Mark is an Oral and Maxillofacial head and neck surgeon and one of HNCF’s founders. His clinical practice is centered on head and neck cancer surgery and minimally invasive management of salivary gland disease.

Luke Cascarini / Director

Luke is an Oral and Maxillofacial head and neck surgeon based at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital and a founder of HNCF. He has a keen interest in robotic surgery and reconstructive techniques.

Alun Williams

Alun is Group Publishing Director for Hearst-Rodale, where he looks after a portfolio of market leading brands including Men’s Health, Runner’s World and Women’s Health. He lives in Kent with his wife and two children.

Drew Woodcock

Drew is currently the Bremont Watch Company’s event manager. His involvement with the charity is motivated by first hand experience of cancer, with two members of his immediate family having endured, and thankfully survived, different forms of the illness.

John Maloney

John has worked in media for over twelve years and is currently Managing Partner at Maxus UK. He is a keen sportsman and is extremely passionate about boxing. John has been supporting and fundraising for various charities since he was ten years old.

Martin Williams

Martin is the Founder and CEO of M Restaurants, a City drinking and dining venue that opened in November 2014. Martin lives in Clapham with his wife Claire, and their Labradoodle Hudson.

William Moseley

William, a third-generation filmmaker, lives in Los Angeles and has worked on a number of independent and Hollywood productions. He was diagnosed with cancer of the submandibular gland, but following successful surgery carried out by Luke Cascarini and a course of radiotherapy has now returned to full health.
